2-year-old Quarter Horse (AQUA) mare. Shiny Cougar was rescued in October 2022 from a kill pen in Texas. She is a very small mare and might be a perfect kid's horse someday. We believe she has never been touched by humans prior. She has to learn to trust humans and how to become a companion. Even though she is very shy, she is also very curious and is slowly trusting the human touch. It will take a lot of patience and training before she can be adoptable. Her favorite treats are peppermints and they've been helpful in earning her trust.

Born in April 2021. Sunshine and her mother, Sky, arrived a month after we rescued our first two mother and daughter minis (Luna and her baby Lavender). They have been rescued from the same farm in Fort Pierce, Florida. Both mothers gave birth to their babies within the same month and were together in the same pen. After we saw how poor Luna's condition and health was when she arrived with baby Lavender, we had to rescue Sky and her baby Sunshine as well. Since both babies grew up like sisters.
Sunshine has a wonderful personality and with her blue eyes captures anyone's attention. She loves to get brushed and works for treats. She is our first potential therapy horse and soon will be visiting hospitals and nursing homes. She already has made many kids and adults very happy with her attendance at local events as well as schools.

Born in April 2021. Lavender and her mother, Luna, were our first rescued horses. Lavender was only one month old, and her mommy was in very rough shape when they arrived. She was the cutest, sweetest little thing. She stole our hearts immediately and we then decided that we need to help more horses in need.
Unfortunately, Lavender was injured last in the fall of 2022 and needed hip surgery. She developed muscle atrophy shortly after the surgery and has been admitted to a rehabilitation center in Ocala since last November. She is getting extensive therapies including magna wave, aqua pacer, chiropractic adjustments and many other on a daily basis. Most recently she received STEM cell therapy as well which should help her recovery tremendously.
As you can imagine, her vet bills and rehabilitation expenses are very expensive, but we are hopeful that she can have a quality of life after she'll return from Ocala.
Sponsor Lavender:
Her daily treatments at the Ocala rehabilitation clinic is $125 per day which includes her food and board.
For $125 you can sponsor her for one day at the clinic.

Mama, Papa and their daughter, Maggie, were rescued by another local rescue organization and we took them into our Zen Equine Retreat in October 2021. Their story is quite moving. The mother, Mama, was shot and needed lifesaving surgery. However, she lost her foal from being shot in the uterus. Fortunately, all three of them were rescued and are living their best life. They are so sweet and will do anything for treats. And their long ears are just adorable.
